After doing wedding photography for nearly 5 years now, one of the biggest tips I can give my brides, is to invest in a Wedding Planner or Day of Wedding Coordinator. Having this professional at your wedding is HUGE. Without one, all of the tasks, organizing, decorating, running around, etc gets left on the shoulders of family or friends. These are people you need celebrating with you, not working on the day of the wedding.
I know, so many people offer to help out. I love that! It is truly appreciated. However, there is something to be said about a professional in this position. Weddings have a lot of moving parts, multiple vendors, things that can (and likely will) go wrong, etc. Knowing how to handle all of this effectively and timely is crucial to the wedding day progressing as it should.

Not to mention, Wedding Planners and Day of Coordinators have a ton of knowledge in the world of weddings. They come up with ideas or questions you may not have thought of.
Weddings are expensive, and you won't catch me downplaying that for one second. However, I've been doing this a long time, and I truly believe this is an area where money is well spent and you won't regret it.

When picking a Wedding Planner or Day of Coordinator, it is so important that you get along well with them. You will be spending a lot of time with this person, and trusting them with one of the biggest days of your life! Having someone who genuinely cares about you and your vision cannot be taken for granted.
